Comparison of Left and Right speech
Let’s compare two influential political women, one on the left, a friend of Barack Obama and one on the right and you can decide whose speech is more incendiary:
Bernadette Dohrn: “The best thing that we can be doing for ourselves, as well as for the [Black] Panthers and the revolutionary black liberation struggle, is to build a f**king white revolutionary movement.”
Sarah Palin: “We don’t retreat, we reload and that’s not a call to violence”
Bernadette Dohrn: Concerning the Manson massacre: “First they killed those pigs, then they ate dinner in the same room with them, then they even shoved a fork into the victim’s stomach! Wild!”[14] In greeting each other, delegates to the war council often spread their fingers to signify the fork.
Sarah Palin: …pundits should not manufacture a “Blood Libel” that serves only to incite hatred
Bernadette Dohrn: On January 29 and 30, 1969, Dohrn spoke of the plans that were under way to “attack” college graduation ceremonies across the country. In May 1970, Dohrn recorded and sent a transcript of a tape recording to the New York Times, the statement was a “declaration of a State of War” on behalf of the Weathermen. During the 1970s, the Weathermen bombed federal buildings and police stations and was responsible for bank robberies and murders.
Sarah Palin: For the 2010 campaign for the House of Representatives, Sarah Palin posted a map of the US with Democrat incumbents targeted to be defeated by Republican challengers. The same maps were available on websites by Charlie Cook, Stuart Rothenberg, and other political pundits. This is the alleged abhorrent “cross hair” map
Bernadette Dohrn: Spent three years on the FBI’s most wanted list
Sarah Palin: Was governor of Alaska from Dec 2006-July 2009.
Bernadette Dohrn is a lawyer from Chicago, married to Bill Ayers. Both were active in the late 60’s and 70’s in the SDS and the spin off group the Weathermen.
Wikipedia says that Chris Matthews was in Africa from 1968 to 1970. He was 18 in 1963, so he was ripe pickins for the military in Vietnam. He never went and I’m not sure what happened with that.
But you would think that he would have a little bit of knowledge of the vitriolic hateful anti-government violence spouting left-wing of the late 1960’s and into the 1970’s. How about the Black Panthers Chris? How about the Weathermen, Chris? The most anti-government stuff that I ever heard came out of the mouths of the left in the late 60’s and early 70’s. And you try to compare Mark Levin to stuff like this?
Did all of this anti-government hate speech affect people in ways to take up violence? You bet. It seemed like a regular occurrence for me to wake my mom and dad up to tell them that somebody important just got killed. And it wasn’t from the right either. James Earl Ray might have been in the Klan, but he just appeared to be kind of brain dead. I’m still not too sure about the investigation on that thing, though.
Matthews is just so afraid that someone is going to challenge him on the wackjobs of the 60’s who are friends of Obama that he tries to make people believe that the stuff you hear today has a hateful, angry tone which is about 1% of what we heard then and we only had 3 TV stations and a couple of newspapers.
