O’Donnell down 11%, only needs to get back 6% of that in 47 days against ‘The Bearded Marxist!

This story has been all over the place today and I think that it deserves some echo-chamber kudos here:  Christine O’Donnell’s opponent in Delaware’s Senate race, Chris Coons, wrote a piece in college called, “Chris Coons: The Making of a Bearded Marxist” after a visit to (of all places) Kenya.  Here’s a snippet:

“I realize that Kenya and America are very different, but experiences like this warned me that my own favorite beliefs in the miracles of free enterprise and the boundless opportunities to be had in America were largely untrue.”

And this was written during the Reagan Administration to boot!  Yes, 1985 was a long time ago and not everyone’s proud of the things they wrote about in college (real life usually widens one’s perspective in a more conservative direction). Coons even throws out an obligatory return to “loving America.”
