House Republicans seized on fresh signs of division among Democrats over what to do about expiring Bush-era tax cuts, and called with renewed fervor on Wednesday for a quick up-or-down vote.

Boehner of Ohio, the House minority leader, said in a news conference on Capitol Hill. “The reason they aren’t bringing this up is because we have the votes.”
