GlaxoSmithKline Cheers $2.3 Billion Fine for Causing 800 Heart Attacks Per Month
According to ABC News, Avandia is responsible for 500 heart attacks and 300 cases of heart failure each month. Despite this, patients are recommended to continue taking the drug, unless their doctor tells them otherwise. At most, they risk fines which are small enough to be treated as routine business expenses.
