PRIME Minister David Cameron was left in the dark over the bomb plot at East Midlands Airport, it was revealed today.
Cameron, was only informed of the discovery of the explosive device on the cargo plane several hours after it was found, Downing Street said.
The device, disguised as an ink cartridge, was found on a UPS aircraft by Leicestershire and Metropolitan police officers at around 3.30am on Friday.
But both the Prime Minister and the Home Office were only aware of the fact at around lunchtime that day, unlike President Barack Obama who had been kept fully informed of developments.

“Both the Home Office and Downing Street were updated at the same time by the relevant police force,” the Prime Minister’s official spokesman said.
