NCRI - The United States must honor its promise to protect the residents of Camp Liberty and transfer them out of Iraq to a place of safety, the former US Governor of Pennsylvania has demanded.

Ed Rendell - also the former chairman of the Democratic National Committee - said when the US handed over protection of Liberty in 2009, 'all hell broke loose'.

And he described asking Iraq to investigate rocket attacks against the camp as like 'asking Al Capone to investigate the St Valentine's Massacre'.

He told a mass gathering of the Iranian Resistance in Paris on June 22: "The United States government over a decade ago signed a contract with each and every one of the residents of Ashraf and Liberty saying that if they disarmed we would protect them. And for six years that worked well.

"But then the US government turned over security to the Iraqi government, and all hell broke loose. In 2009, that government, the Maliki's government's own forces attacked the people of Ashraf.

"A bloody, deadly attack. And the State Department issues a statement condemning the attack, but nothing changed.

"In 2011, it happened again. Another bloody, brutal attack with the government Iraq federal police using US vehicles and US weapons."

The United Nations and the US State Department then misled the Iranian dissidents by persuading them to leave Ashraf for Liberty, Mr. Rendell said.

He added: "We told them that the UN and the US and the government of Iraq guaranteed their safety at Liberty. Let the record show we misled them. There's been no attempt to guarantee their safety.

"In fact, the opposite is true. The government of Iraq has prevented them from taking common sense safety measures: t-walls, protective armor to protect themselves.

"And again, death has resulted. We saw an attack in February, a rocket attack in February. And when the rocket attack happened the State Department issued a statement condemning the attack and calling on the government of Iraq to investigate.

"Colonel Wes Martin said to me, 'Asking the government of Iraq to investigate those rocket attacks would be like asking the gangster Al Capone to investigate the St. Valentine's Massacre that his people did in Chicago'.

"It's a joke. We know who sponsored those attacks. The Iraqi government and the Iran government are the sponsors of the attacks on Liberty. And if that isn't enough to cause the United States to act, I don't know what is.

"But the residents of Ashraf and Liberty have the word of the United States government, a legally binding contract that we would protect them.

"We have no choice and we're going to make this as clear as can be to the State Department or we're going to keep banging and banging until it gets done.

"We have no choice but to live up to our obligation, the United States of America, and get these people out of Iraq to safety. They are strong, they are steadfast, they've sacrificed a lot. It is our duty as Americans to do this. We gave our word, let's honor our word."

WASHINGTON (AP) - The nation's top special operations commander ordered military files about the Navy SEAL raid on Osama bin Laden's hideout to be purged from Defense Department computers and sent to the CIA, where they could be more easily shielded from ever being made public.

The secret move, described briefly in a draft report by the Pentagon's inspector general, set off no alarms within the Obama administration even though it appears to have sidestepped federal rules and perhaps also the Freedom of Information Act.

An acknowledgement by Adm. William McRaven of his actions was quietly removed from the final version of an inspector general's report published weeks ago. A spokesman for the admiral declined to comment. The CIA, noting that the bin Laden mission was overseen by then-CIA Director Leon Panetta before he became defense secretary, said that the SEALs were effectively assigned to work temporarily for the CIA, which has presidential authority to conduct covert operations.

"Documents related to the raid were handled in a manner consistent with the fact that the operation was conducted under the direction of the CIA director," agency spokesman Preston Golson said in an emailed statement. "Records of a CIA operation such as the (bin Laden) raid, which were created during the conduct of the operation by persons acting under the authority of the CIA Director, are CIA records."

Golson said it is "absolutely false" that records were moved to the CIA to avoid the legal requirements of the Freedom of Information Act.

The records transfer was part of an effort by McRaven to protect the names of the personnel involved in the raid, according to the inspector general's draft report.

But secretly moving the records allowed the Pentagon to tell The Associated Press that it couldn't find any documents inside the Defense Department that AP had requested more than two years ago, and could represent a new strategy for the U.S. government to shield even its most sensitive activities from public scrutiny.

"Welcome to the shell game in place of open government," said Thomas Blanton, director of the National Security Archive, a private research institute at George Washington University. "Guess which shell the records are under. If you guess the right shell, we might show them to you. It's ridiculous."

McRaven's directive sent the only copies of the military's records about its daring raid to the CIA, which has special authority to prevent the release of "operational files" in ways that can't effectively be challenged in federal court. The Defense Department can prevent the release of its own military files, too, citing risks to national security. But that can be contested in court, and a judge can compel the Pentagon to turn over non-sensitive portions of records.

Elizabeth Daly went to jail over a case of bottled water.

According to the Charlottesville Daily Progress, shortly after 10 p.m. April 11, the University of Virginia student bought ice cream, cookie dough and a carton of LaCroix sparkling water from the Harris Teeter grocery store at the popular Barracks Road Shopping Center. In the parking lot, a half-dozen men and a woman approached her car, flashing some kind of badges. One jumped on the hood. Another drew a gun. Others started trying to break the windows.

Daly understandably panicked. With her roommate in the passenger seat yelling “Go, go, go!” Daly drove off, hoping to reach the nearest police station. The women dialed 911. Then a vehicle with lights and sirens pulled them over, and the situation clarified: The people who had swarmed Daly’s vehicle were plainclothes agents of the Virginia Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control. The agents had thought the sparkling water was a 12-pack of beer.

Did the ABC’s enforcers apologize? Not in the slightest. They charged Daly with three felonies: two for assaulting an officer (her vehicle had grazed two agents; neither was hurt) and one for eluding the police. Last week, the commonwealth’s attorney dropped the charges.

The agents’ excessive display of force is outrageously disproportionate to the offense they mistakenly thought they witnessed: an underage purchase of alcohol. But in a sense, Daly got off easy. A couple of weeks after her ordeal, a 61-year-old man in Tennessee was killed when the police executed a drug raid on the wrong house. A few weeks later, in another wrong-house raid, police officers killed a dog belonging to an Army veteran. They are, however, part and parcel of two broader phenomena. One is the militarization of domestic law enforcement. In recent years, police departments have widely adopted military tactics, military equipment (armored personnel carriers, flash-bang grenades) — and, sometimes, the mindset of military conquerors rather than domestic peacekeepers.

The other phenomenon is the increasing degree to which civilians are subject to criminal prosecution for noncriminal acts, including exercising the constitutionally protected right to free speech.

JP MORGAN’s CUSTOMER GOLD INVENTORY FALLS (06\12\2013) 61% OVERNIGHT!

JP Morgan’s Eligible (Customer) gold inventory fell a whopping 61% today.  That’s 6.7 metric tonnes of gold taken off of JP Morgan’s inventory.  As you can see in the chart below, there are only 136,380 oz of gold left in Morgan’s Customer inventory.   Basically, JP Morgan has a little more than 4 metric tonnes of gold left in its Eligible or Customer inventory.
Furthermore, that 217,844 oz withdraw from JP Morgan’s vault accounted for 28% of its total inventory….meaning JP Morgan only has approximately 555,000 oz left in its total inventory.

It will be interesting going forward here to see if JP Morgan will be able to satisfy its withdrawal requests of gold.  The more the bullion banks push the price of gold down, the more gold will be withdrawn from the Comex.

FEMA signs deal with Russian Emergency Situations Ministry to “exchange experts”

As part of a deal signed last week in Washington DC between the Russian Emergency Situations Ministry and FEMA, Russian officials will provide “security at mass events” in the United States, a scenario that won’t sit well with Americans wary of foreign assets operating on US soil.

According to a press release by the Ministry of the Russian Federation for Civil Defense and Emergencies, US and Russian officials met on June 25 at the 17th Joint U.S.-Russia Cooperation Committee on Emergency Situations.

In addition to agreeing with FEMA to “exchange experts during joint rescue operations in major disasters,” the Russian Emergency Situations Ministry will also be providing “security at mass events” in the United States.

This suggests that events designated as “National Special Security Events” by the Department of Homeland Security, which include the Super Bowl, international summits such as the G8 and presidential inaugurations, will now rely partly on Russian authorities to provide security.

The meeting last week also agreed on the conclusion that US and Russian emergency authorities will increase their co-operation, “in order to respond efficiently to all kinds of disasters.”

The use of foreign troops or other officials in a law enforcement capacity providing “security” inside the United States is illegal under Posse Comitatus. Capt. William Geddes of the U.S. Army Reserve acknowledged last year that it is against federal law to use US troops to conduct police patrols, despite the fact that such occurrences are becoming increasingly common. The use of foreign troops is an even more clear cut violation of Posse Comitatus.

Last year we reported on how Russian troops were invited to the US as part of a Fort Carson, Colorado drill focused around anti-terror training. Aside from learning how to target terrorists in America, the Russian soldiers were also out in the local community attending a baseball game in Colorado Springs.

As Mac Slavo writes, “Rumors have circulated for years about the possibility of foreign troops being deployed on U.S. soil in the event of a widespread declaration of a national emergency. For quite some time there have been anecdotal reports to support the claim that the U.N., Russia and other nations would be used in a policing capacity should some critical event befall our nation.”
