The notion that it would not have been ‘presidential’ for him to defend himself against the lies is woefully lacking in logic. His lack of ‘standing’ in the eyes of the public dug a deep hole for any republican candidate to climb out of in order to win the coming election.
Follow this up with his ‘abandoning the free market in order to save the free market’ right before the elections which spelled certain doom for the republicans chances of winning anything.
