Scholar claims to find medieval Jewish capital of Khazaria

What if the majority of Jews in the world today are non-Semitic. What if Zionism and the modern State of Israel is a product of these non-Semitic Jews. What if the modern State of Israel was a major tool in the plan for a new world order.
What if Mayer Amschel Bauer was one of these non-Semitic Jews. Who is Mayer Amschel Bauer? He changed his name; as was and is, the habit of many of the Ashkenazi. You may know him as the father of the Rothschild dynasty...

Discovery of Khazar capital unearths more about Ashkenazi Jews

Scholar claims to find medieval Jewish capital

By MANSUR MIROVALEV, Associated Press Writer Sat Sep 20, 2:13 PM ET
MOSCOW – A Russian archaeologist says he has found the lost capital of the Khazars, a powerful nation that adopted Judaism as its official religion more than 1,000 years ago, only to disappear leaving little trace of its culture.
Dmitry Vasilyev, a professor at Astrakhan State University, said his nine-year excavation near the Caspian Sea has finally unearthed the foundations of a triangular fortress of flamed brick, along with modest yurt-shaped dwellings, and he believes these are part of what was once Itil, the Khazar capital.
By law Khazars could use flamed bricks only in the capital, Vasilyev said. The general location of the city on the Silk Road was confirmed in medieval chronicles by Arab, Jewish and European authors.
“The discovery of the capital of Eastern Europe’s first feudal state is of great significance,” he told The Associated Press. “We should view it as part of Russian history.”
Kevin Brook, the American author of “The Jews of Khazaria,” e-mailed Wednesday that he has followed the Itil dig over the years, and even though it has yielded no Jewish artifacts, “Now I’m as confident as the archaeological team is that they’ve truly found the long-lost city,
The Khazars were a Turkic tribe that roamed the steppes from Northern China to the Black Sea. Between the 7th and 10th centuries they conquered huge swaths of what is now southern Russia and Ukraine, the Caucasus Mountains and Central Asia as far as the Aral Sea.
Itil, about 800 miles south of Moscow, had a population of up to 60,000 and occupied 0.8 square miles of marshy plains southwest of the Russian Caspian Sea port of Astrakhan, Vasilyev said.
It lay at a major junction of the Silk Road, the trade route between Europe and China, which “helped Khazars amass giant profits,” he said.
The Khazar empire was once a regional superpower, and Vasilyev said his team has found “luxurious collections” of well-preserved ceramics that help identify cultural ties of the Khazar state with Europe, the Byzantine Empire and even Northern Africa. They also found armor, wooden kitchenware, glass lamps and cups, jewelry and vessels for transporting precious balms dating back to the eighth and ninth centuries, he said.
But a scholar in Israel, while calling the excavations interesting, said the challenge was to find Khazar inscriptions.
“If they found a few buildings, or remains of buildings, that’s interesting but does not make a big difference,” said Dr. Simon Kraiz, an expert on Eastern European Jewry at Haifa University. “If they found Khazar writings, that would be very important.”
Vasilyev says no Jewish artifacts have been found at the site, and in general, most of what is known about the Khazars comes from chroniclers from other, sometimes competing cultures and empires.
“We know a lot about them, and yet we know almost nothing: Jews wrote about them, and so did Russians, Georgians, and Armenians, to name a few,” said Kraiz. “But from the Khazars themselves we have nearly nothing.”
The Khazars’ ruling dynasty and nobility converted to Judaism sometime in the 8th or 9th centuries. Vasilyev said the limited number of Jewish religious artifacts such as mezuzas and Stars of David found at other Khazar sites prove that ordinary Khazars preferred traditional beliefs such as shamanism, or newly introduced religions including Islam.
Yevgeny Satanovsky, director of the Middle Eastern Institute in Moscow, said he believes the Khazar elite chose Judaism out of political expediency — to remain independent of neighboring Muslim and Christian states. “They embraced Judaism because they wanted to remain neutral, like Switzerland these days,” he said.
In particular, he said, the Khazars opposed the Arab advance into the Caucasus Mountains and were instrumental in containing a Muslim push toward eastern Europe. He compared their role in eastern Europe to that of the French knights who defeated Arab forces at the Battle of Tours in France in 732.
The Khazars succeeded in holding off the Arabs, but a young, expanding Russian state vanquished the Khazar empire in the late 10th century. Medieval Russian epic poems mention Russian warriors fighting the “Jewish Giant.”
“In many ways, Russia is a successor of the Khazar state,” Vasilyev said.
He said his dig revealed traces of a large fire that was probably caused by the Russian conquest. He said Itil was rebuilt following the fall of the Khazar empire, when ethnic Khazars were slowly assimilated by Turkic-speaking tribes, Tatars and Mongols, who inhabited the city until it was flooded by the rising Caspian Sea around the 14th century.
The study of the Khazar empire was discouraged in the Soviet Union. The dictator Josef Stalin, in particular, detested the idea that a Jewish empire had come before Russia’s own. He ordered references to Khazar history removed from textbooks because they “disproved his theory of Russian statehood,” Satanovsky said.
Only now are Russian scholars free to explore Khazar culture. The Itil excavations have been sponsored by the Russian-Jewish Congress, a nonprofit organization that supports cultural projects in Russia.
“Khazar studies are just beginning,” Satanovsky said.

As I have written in one of my previous posts, Arthur Koestler wrote a book in 1976 called The Thirteenth Tribe about the ancient Khazar empire. Being pressured by the Christians from the East and the Muslims from the West, in 940 AD, they decided to convert to Judaism, that way they did not have to answer to any of the previous groups. I don’t remember the exact number, but it was a few million.
The Khazars were Turks and by no means, Semitic. They are the Ashkenazi Jews, if any of you are familiar with that term. The majority of Jews today are Ashkenazi and I really wonder if God realizes his “chosen” people were not the ones he chose back in the day.
It makes no difference, to us, though, since we have to obey God’s law and give the Jews billions of dollars every year, just to stay on God’s good side……. right???

How do the Democrats get away with attacking the 1% when they are them, e.g., ‘Dirty’ Harry Reid?

Not that the Republicans haven’t fleeced us too but…

They get away with it because the Illuminati owned media allows them to. This story will not get any play from the main stream media because they are in on it.

It’s all part of a plan to destroy America through economic collapse, class and race warfare, and any other groups they can pit against each other! Read the Protocol of the Learned Elders of Zion, it’s all there, written over a hundred years ago…

The plan hasn’t changed, look at the cartoon from 1934 in the middle of this article.

How Did Harry Reid Get Rich?

His career in public service has ended up being remarkably lucrative.

By Betsy Woodruff

Try this thought experiment. Imagine that someone grows up in poverty, works his way through law school by holding the night shift as a Capitol Hill policeman, and spends all but two years of his career as a public servant. Now imagine that this person’s current salary — and he’s at the top of his game — is $193,400. You probably wouldn’t expect him to have millions in stocks, bonds, and real estate.

But, surprise, he does, if he’s our Senate majority leader, whose net worth is between 3 and 10 million dollars, according to OpenSecrets.org. When Harry Reid entered the Nevada legislature in 1982, his net worth was listed as between $1 million and $1.5 million “or more,” according to the Las Vegas Review-Journal. So, since inquiring minds inquire, let’s try to figure out how Reid’s career in public service ended up being so lucrative. He hasn’t released his tax returns, which makes this an imperfect science, but looking at a few of his investments helps to show how he amassed his wealth.

In 2004, the senator made $700,000 off a land deal that was, to say the least, unorthodox. It started in 1998 when he bought a parcel of land with attorney Jay Brown, a close friend whose name has surfaced multiple times in organized-crime investigations and whom one retired FBI agent described as “always a person of interest.” Three years after the purchase, Reid transferred his portion of the property to Patrick Lane LLC, a holding company Brown controlled. But Reid kept putting the property on his financial disclosures, and when the company sold it in 2004, he profited from the deal — a deal on land that he didn’t technically own and that had nearly tripled in value in six years.

1934 cartoon

When his 2010 challenger Sharron Angle asked him in a debate how he had become so wealthy, he said, “I did a very good job investing.” Did he ever. On December 20, 2005, he invested $50,000 to $100,000 in the Dow Jones U.S. Energy Sector Fund (IYE), which closed that day at $29.15. The companies whose shares it held included ExxonMobil, ChevronTexaco, and ConocoPhillips. When he made a partial sale of his shares on August 19, 2008, during congressional recess, IYE closed at $41.82. Just a month later, on September 17, Reid was working to bring to the floor a bill that the Joint Committee on Taxation said would cost oil companies — including those in the fund — billions of dollars in taxes and regulatory fees. The bill passed a few days later, and by October 10, IYE’s shares had fallen by 42 percent, to $24.41, for a host of reasons. Savvy investing indeed.

Here’s another example: The Los Angeles Times reported in November 2006 that when Reid became Senate majority leader he committed to making earmark reform a priority, saying he’d work to keep congressmen from using federal dollars for pet projects in their districts. It was a good idea but an odd one for the senator to espouse. He had managed to get $18 million set aside to build a bridge across the Colorado River between Laughlin, Nev., and Bullhead City, Ariz., a project that wasn’t a priority for either state’s transportation agency. His ownership of 160 acres of land nearby that stood to appreciate considerably from the project had nothing to do with the decision, according to one of his aides. The property’s value has varied since then. On his financial-disclosure forms from 2006, it was valued at $250,000 to $500,000. Open Secrets now lists it as his most valuable asset, worth $1 million to $5 million as of 2010.

How Reid acquired that land is interesting, too. He put $10,000 into a pension fund his friend Clair Haycock controlled, to take over the 160-acre parcel at a price far below its assessed value. Six months later, Reid introduced legislation that would help Haycock’s industry, a move many observers said appeared to be a quid pro quo, though Reid and Haycock denied that the legislation was the result of a property deal.

We don’t know how much more money Reid has or how he made all of it. For that, we’d have to see his tax returns.

Coach: Pelosis in Breach of Contract

Former NFL head coach Dennis Green sues husband of House minority leader for breach of contract

A new lawsuit brought by a former NFL coach charges the husband of House minority leader Nancy Pelosi with breach of contract.

Dennis Green, former head coach of the Minnesota Vikings and Arizona Cardinals, is accusing Paul Pelosi and business partner Bill Hambrecht of failing to honor the $1.5 million contract he signed to coach Pelosi’s football team, the Sacramento Mountain Lions.

“Since January 2011, defendants … have failed to meet their contractual commitments to compensate Green at the amount required under his contract,” the suit states.

Green uprooted his family from their native San Diego, withdrew his children from school, and purchased a new home in Sacramento after he inked the lucrative deal with Pelosi and Hambrecht.

“[The team] acted willfully, intentionally, and maliciously in order to fraudulently induce Green to move from his home in San Diego,” the suit says. “[He] carried out the responsibilities of his contract in justifiable reliance upon Hambrecht’s promises that he would stand behind the commitments of UFL.”

A league spokesman declined to comment on the suit.

Hambrecht, a multimillionaire financier, founded the United Football League in 2007 to bring professional football to mid-sized cities in California, Oklahoma, Virginia, and Florida. He later invited Pelosi, a real estate developer and fellow San Francisco investor, to become a top owner in the league. Pelosi bought the Sacramento team for $12 million in 2009 and later purchased a $1 million stake in the league.

Pelosi pledged to treat the team like any other investment, swearing to the Washington Post that this was no vanity purchase.

“This is a business, I look at it as a business,” he said. “I’m in this because I think it is a very solid financial investment that is going to be very successful.”

Pelosi, however, did not take any of the steps required of a start-up sports league. There were no major television deals, corporate sponsorships, or signature tournament or playoff games—ingredients considered to be the staples of successful leagues.

The league also needed to bring in more investors for revenue. But its sloppy structure chased away prospective owners, including seasoned football owner Jim Speros.

“I think the football people were reputable, the problem was there was no real structure on how you could enter as an investor,” he said.

Speros, who founded the Canadian Football League’s Baltimore Stallions in the 1990s, sought to bring a UFL team to Virginia Beach in 2010. He quickly realized that it was a poor investment.

“I was looking for full ownership, but they treated the league as a single entity,” he said. “I don’t know if they did or did not pay any bills…but it doesn’t surprise me. It’s very difficult starting a league from scratch.”

Green noticed the missing elements, but received reassurances from the team that Pelosi and his partners had guaranteed its expenses, according to the suit.

“Green was mindful of the fact that the UFL [and Mountain Lions] were not generating sufficient revenues to cover their expenses, including his salary, and relied, reasonably and explicitly, on Hambrecht’s assurances that he and other investors in the UFL would pay for and guarantee the expenses,” it states.

Pelosi failed to pay Green’s bi-weekly $62,500 paycheck in full throughout 2011. He cut checks at varying amounts, dropping as low as $5,000 for weeks at a time, according to the suit. Rather than running the team like a business, Pelosi’s financial disclosure forms indicate he may have sold stocks to pay for the team.

Neither Paul Pelosi nor Rep. Pelosi (D, Calif.) returned calls for comment.

Leader Pelosi’s investment decisions have made her one of the wealthiest members of Congress and in recent years have also invited scrutiny from government watchdogs.

Her net worth grew to $43.4 million in 2011, a 62 percent jump from 2010, based in part on a number of questionable investment decisions. Author Peter Schweizer later revealed that Pelosi invested between $1 and $5 million in Visa as she presided over credit card legislation in Congress.

The UFL stands alone as Pelosi’s only financial stinker. Mr. and Mrs. Pelosi lost between $2 to $10 million on the league in 2011, according to the leader’s most recent financial disclosures. That did not stop dissuade the businessman from doubling down on the investment. He injected between $2.75 and $6.6 million into the league even as he refused to pay Green.

One person with knowledge of the league suspects Pelosi may have accepted heavy losses from the venture for political reasons.

“When people invest in a business where they’re losing money, they do it for a reason: tax deductions, or maybe it’s a pet project,” the source said. “The Pelosis, they’re sensitive to how much money they have. It’s almost like they’re looking to decrease their net worth.”

The couple’s extreme wealth has become a political liability in recent years and invited accusations of hypocrisy from critics.

The couple has refused to hire unions to work in its vineyard and other business interests, even as Pelosi has collected $365,500 in political contributions from labor groups in 2012. She has also railed against bankers despite the fact that her husband’s colleagues are her staunchest allies, contributing $500,000 in 2012, according to the Center for Responsive Politics.

Hambrecht, Pelosi’s UFL partner, is in the latter group. He has contributed $160,000 to Democratic candidates since 2007, including $22,000 to Pelosi and her Super PAC, according to the Center for Responsive Politics.

The mega-donations have helped line her husband’s pockets.

Pelosi’s campaign doled out $100,000 to her husband’s company, Financial Leasing Services Inc., between 1998 and 2008. In 2008, she championed legislation that would bar lawmakers from steering funds to spouses. She also proposed a multi-million dollar earmark to a neighborhood full of her husband’s rental properties in 2007. The four apartment buildings in the area earned the Pelosis more than $3 million per year at the time.

Green’s suit is only the latest example of troubling news for the UFL. The league failed to pay its players, many of whom earned as little as $25,000 per year, at the close of the 2010 season, and has settled separate multi-million lawsuits for failing to pay the Mayo Clinic and NBA owner Mark Cuban for services and investments.

Radford business owner declines request from Joe Biden's entourage to stop in store

I hope there’s enough in the military, law enforcement, and the general population to stop this mad dash into slavery to the new world order.

The owner of Crumb and Get It says he doesn't agree with the Obama administration's policies

Vice President Joe Biden visits Danville, Floyd, Wytheville

Would you say no to the Vice President?

One New River Valley business owner turned Vice President Joe Biden down. To see video of the story, click here.

This might happen more than you think from both political parties, most businesses just don't talk about it. The owner of "Crumb and Get It" - did.

Chris McMurray's bakery has been open only since May, barely three months.

Wednesday morning, advance teams for Vice President Joe Biden walked in.

"I approached her she said Joe Biden is coming to town today," McMurray said.

"Crumb and Get It" is a mom and pop store. Literally. Chris and his wife Kelly run the place and need all the business they can get.

McMurray said the Vice President's entourage got to the point and made its pitch.

"She said they have selected 'Crumb and Get It" to be his stop on his way to Blacksburg and was wondering if that was ok."

Here's the part that might make other business owners crazy.

"This is an opportunity of a lifetime but essentially I said 'No offense to you or the campaign but I just decline you guys coming in here. At that time she said 'Are you sure? There's going to be a lot of press, a lot of activity,’" McMurray said.

Why in the world would a new business owner say "no" to a photo op with the Vice President of the United States?

McMurray said it was President Obama's recent remarks about small business and who built what.

"Very simply, ‘you didn't build that’” McMurray said. “Speaking of small businesses and entrepreneurs all across this country and actually last night my wife was up all night. No sleep, she's worked a full 24 hours."

When "Crumb and Get It" said 'no', “River City Grill,” just around the corner, said 'yes' and has the pictures to prove it, and didn't care about the politics.

"If you want to throw in some libertarians as well that's fine too. Stop in as well,” Chris Bell said. “Just bring your money. Sure, right!

Back at the bakery, a couple of guys said they'd hoped to see Biden and didn't care that the VP had been turned away.

"I mean it really doesn't matter to me. Everyone has their own views so I love the food here anyway. I agree. Everybody's different so I could care less," said Spenser Critterton of Radford.

Here's the back story, we’re told that shortly after Crumb and Get It told Biden’s advance people 'no' -- the secret service walked in and told Chris McMurray ''Thanks for standing up and saying 'no' -- then they bought a whole bunch of cookies and cupcakes.

McMurray said he's hoping folks will understand he just didn't want to be part of a photo op for an administration whose policies he doesn’t agree with.

Breitbart warned us ‘racial and class warfare’ was central to Obama’s presidency…and was assassinated for it

Holder giving a pass to the Black Panther’s for voter intimidation, Obama’s calling the ‘white’ policeman’s action ‘stupid’ in confrontation with a black professor, the Trayvon Martin travesty in which Obama injected himself in the middle of it by saying if he had a son he would look like Trayvon, all these were just the beginning…

'TAKE YOUR CAMPAIGN OF DIVISION AND ANGER AND HATE BACK TO CHICAGO'...

Why is the Social Security Administration buying a massive amount of ‘hollow point’ bullets?

This is on the heels of DHS buying massive amounts of ammunition and freeze dried foods. And the military having exercises with federal and local law enforcement on American soil.

They are tightening the noose around our necks and we are to stupefied to see it!

Social Security Administration To Purchase 174 Thousand Rounds Of Hollow Point Bullets

Preparing for civil unrest? Ammunition to be delivered to 41 locations across U.S.

First it was the Department of Homeland Security, then it was the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, and now the Social Security Administration is set to purchase 174,000 rounds of hollow point bullets that will be delivered to 41 locations across the country.

FEMA camp sites

FEMA Camps

A solicitation posted by the SSA on the FedBizOpps website asks for contractors to supply 174,000 rounds of “.357 Sig 125 grain bonded jacketed hollow point pistol ammunition.”

An online ammunition retailer describes the bullets as suitable “for peak performance rivaling and sometimes surpassing handloads in many guns,” noting that the ammo is “a great personal defense bullet.”

The synopsis to the solicitation adds that the ammunition is to be shipped to 41 locations within 60 days of purchase. A separate spreadsheet lists those locations, which include the Social Security headquarters in Baltimore, Maryland as well as major cities across the country including Los Angeles, Detroit, Oklahoma City, Dallas, Houston, Atlanta, Denver, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh and Seattle.

Hollow point bullets are designed to expand as they enter the body, causing maximum damage by tearing apart internal organs.

It’s not outlandish to suggest that the Social Security Administration is purchasing the bullets as part of preparations for civil unrest. Social security welfare is estimated to keep around 40 per cent of senior citizens out of poverty. Should the tap run dry in the aftermath of an economic collapse which the Federal Reserve has already told top banks to prepare for, domestic disorder could ensue if people are refused their benefits.

  • A d v e r t i s e m e n t

Indeed, earlier this year the Department of Homeland Security ran a drill called Operation Shield which included turning the entrance of a Florida Social Security office into a checkpoint manned by Federal Protective Service officers armed with semiautomatic rifles.

“With their blue and white SUVs circled around the Main Street office, at least one official was posted on the door with a semiautomatic rifle, randomly checking identifications. And other officers, some with K-9s, sifted through the building,” reported the Daily Commercial.

A rash of solicitations by federal agencies for hollow point bullets in recent months has stoked fears that the government is preparing for civil unrest caused by a financial collapse on a scale similar or even larger to scenes already witnessed in Europe over the last two years.

As we reported yesterday, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) has put out a contract for 46,000 rounds of hollow point bullets along with 500 paper targets.

Despite initially asking the bullets to be delivered to the National Weather Service, NOAA claimed this was a “clerical error” and insisted the ammunition was being sent to the Fisheries Office of Law Enforcement. Why powerful hollow point bullets that are designed to tear apart internal organs are needed for practice shooting at paper targets has not been explained.

Back in March, Homeland Security purchased 450 million rounds of .40-caliber hollow point bullets that are designed to expand upon entry and cause maximum organ damage, prompting questions as to why the DHS needed such a large amount of powerful bullets merely for training purposes.

This was followed by another DHS solicitation asking for a further 750 million rounds of assorted bullets, including 357 mag rounds that are able to penetrate walls.

The DHS recently put out an order for riot gear in preparation for the upcoming DNC, RNC and presidential inauguration. The U.S. Army is also busy buying similar equipment.

The DHS also recently purchased a number of bullet-proof checkpoint booths that include ‘stop and go’ lights.

Will the military turn on ‘We the People’?

It couldn’t happen…could it? What are they being taught their trainings? I know they weren’t taught the constitution in the public schools.

Do they understand who the government is, i.e., ‘We the People’, not the president and the congress. The president and congress are supposed to be representatives!  Sadly they, for the most part, have become our enemies.

Illustration: Battle worn Tea Party by Greg Groesch for The Washington Times

Imagine Tea Party extremists seizing control of a South Carolina town and the Army being sent in to crush the rebellion. This farcical vision is now part of the discussion in professional military circles.

At issue is an article in the respected Small Wars Journal titled “Full Spectrum Operations in the Homeland: A ‘Vision’ of the Future.” It was written by retired Army Col. Kevin Benson of the Army's University of Foreign Military and Cultural Studies at Fort Leavenworth, Kan., and Jennifer Weber, a Civil War expert at the University of Kansas. It posits an “extremist militia motivated by the goals of the ‘tea party’ movement” seizing control of Darlington, S.C., in 2016, “occupying City Hall, disbanding the city council and placing the mayor under house arrest.” The rebels set up checkpoints on Interstate 95 and Interstate 20 looking for illegal aliens. It’s a cartoonish and needlessly provocative scenario.

The article is a choppy patchwork of doctrinal jargon and liberal nightmare. The authors make a quasi-legal case for military action and then apply the Army’s Operating Concept 2016-2028 to the situation. They write bloodlessly that “once it is put into play, Americans will expect the military to execute without pause and as professionally as if it were acting overseas.” They claim that “the Army cannot disappoint the American people, especially in such a moment,” not pausing to consider that using such efficient, deadly force against U.S. citizens would create a monumental political backlash and severely erode government legitimacy.

The vision is hard to take seriously. As retired ArmyBrig. Gen. Russell D. Howard, a former professor at West Point, observed earlier in his career, “I am a colonel, colonels write a lot of crazy stuff, but no one listens to colonels, so I don’t see the problem.” Twenty years ago, then-Air Force Lt. Col. Charles J. Dunlap Jr. created a stir with an article in Parameters titled “The Origins of the American Military Coup of 2012.” It carried a disclaimer that the coup scenario was “purely a literary device intended to dramatize my concern over certain contemporary developments affecting the armed forces, and is emphatically not a prediction.”

The scenario presented in Small Wars Journal isn’t a literary device but an operational lay-down intended to present the rationale and mechanisms for Americans to fight Americans. Col. Benson and Ms. Weber contend, “Army officers are professionally obligated to consider the conduct of operations on U.S. soil.” This is a dark, pessimistic and wrongheaded view of what military leaders should spend their time studying.

Exclusive: U.S. banks told to make plans for preventing collapse

What’s up with this? Is this a warning of something coming or a threat. Some banks were forced by the Obama administration to merge and accept government bailouts during the last collapse (albeit the melt down occurred during the final months of the Bush administration) and accept more government involvement in the private banking sector, i.e., fascism, i.e., loss of individual freedom.

The US government is owned by the Luciferian R&R banskter cabal and has grown into a monstrosity of ruling class elites controlled by them who govern for them and not for ‘we the people’!

A one world government ruled by them is their objective. There is no opposition party in America, the Republican and Democrat parties are controlled by them so it doesn’t matter which party is in power. The two party system is an illusion to make you think you have a choice—you don’t!

Thy plan to bring the nations of the world to their knees through a global financial collapse. Is this a signal that it is at hand? Here’s the plan…

U.S. Morning Call: Exclusive-Big banks got tall order

BankstersPlayGovernmentBy Rick Rothacker, Fri Aug 10, 2012 8:41am EDT

(Reuters) - U.S. regulators directed five of the country's biggest banks, including Bank of America Corp and Goldman Sachs Group Inc, to develop plans for staving off collapse if they faced serious problems, emphasizing that the banks could not count on government help.

The two-year-old program, which has been largely secret until now, is in addition to the "living wills" the banks crafted to help regulators dismantle them if they actually do fail. It shows how hard regulators are working to ensure that banks have plans for worst-case scenarios and can act rationally in times of distress.

Officials like Lehman Brothers former Chief Executive Dick Fuld have been criticized for having been too hesitant to take bold steps to solve their banks' problems during the financial crisis.

According to documents obtained by Reuters, the Federal Reserve and the U.S. Office of the Comptroller of the Currency first directed five banks - which also include Citigroup Inc,, Morgan Stanley and JPMorgan Chase & Co - to come up with these "recovery plans" in May 2010.

They told banks to consider drastic efforts to prevent failure in times of distress, including selling off businesses, finding other funding sources if regular borrowing markets shut them out, and reducing risk. The plans must be feasible to execute within three to six months, and banks were to "make no assumption of extraordinary support from the public sector," according to the documents.

Spokespeople for the five banks declined to comment. The Federal Reserve also declined to comment.

Recovery plans differ from living wills, also known as "resolution plans," which are required under the 2010 Dodd-Frank financial reform law. Living wills aim to end bailouts of too-big-to-fail banks by showing how they would liquidate themselves without imperiling the financial system.

"Recovery plans are about protecting the crown jewels," said Paul Cantwell, a managing director at consulting firm Alvarez & Marsal. "It's about, 'How do I sell off non-core assets?' The priority is to the shareholders. A resolution plan is about protecting the system, taxpayers and creditors."

The recovery plans are being used as part of regulators' ongoing supervisory process. In Britain, recovery and resolution plans have both been part of the living will requirements for large banks.

Mike Brosnan, senior deputy comptroller for large banks at the OCC, said the regulator continuously evaluates contingency planning at the banks and savings associations it supervises.

"Recovery plans required of the largest banks are helpful in ensuring banks and regulators are prepared to manage periods of severe financial distress or instability affecting the banking sector," he said.

This summer, nine global banks submitted living wills to the Fed and Federal Deposit Insurance Corp, and regulators released the public portion of the documents.

The recovery plans requested in 2010, meanwhile, have received little publicity. The names of the banks required to submit them have not been previously disclosed, and Reuters obtained them only through a Freedom of Information Act request.

The Fed supplied Reuters with the letters requesting plans from banks, but not the banks' actual plans because they were deemed confidential supervisory information. The regulator said it was withholding 5,100 pages of information.

Exercise: pack of heavily armored military vehicles will be driving around Sheboygan County, Wisconsin…

Get used to it, this will be the new norm before long, and it won’t be an exercise!

Armored Military Vehicles To Patrol Wisconsin Neighborhoods

Armored military vehicles of the type used to hunt for insurgents in Afghanistan are set to patrol roads in Sheboygan County, Wisconsin as part of a training exercise on behalf of the U.S. Army Reserve.

“(Capt. William) Geddes said the U.S. Army Reserve wanted to alert the public to the training dates so residents are not alarmed when a pack of heavily armored military vehicles is driving around the county,” reports Sheboyganpress.com.

The exercises are being run despite the fact that troops driving the M1117 Armored Security Vehicles have already received their basic training.

“They’re vehicles that these military officers might use if they’re deployed, patrol vehicles,” Geddes said, adding that the drills were to ensure that officers didn’t get “rusty” in handling the M1117s.

The vehicles, which have been used overseas in Afghanistan, are described as being “strange,” “intimidating” and “heavily armored,” while being the same size as a large SUV.

Local authorities have apparently not even been briefed about the planned exercises, which will run until August 17.

“Sheboygan County Administrator Adam Payne said he had not heard about the training exercises. Two city officials declined to comment, because they also had heard nothing about the training,” states the report.

Geddes urged citizens not to create safety hazards on the roads by stopping to gaze at the vehicles.

The increasing phenomena of military training drills taking place away from military bases and amidst the general public has led to fears that the American people are being acclimatized to accept a potential future declaration of martial law.

Back in June, residents in St Louis were shocked to see heavily armored U.S. Army vehicles patrolling neighborhoods as part of an exercise.

However, the local media responded by featuring ‘vox pops’ interviews with people who supported the use of the military in order to “cut down on crime,” despite the fact that using the Army for domestic law enforcement is forbidden under the Posse Comitatus Act.

Advocating that America ape foreign countries where troops patrol the streets, one resident told Fox 2, “I think it’s the same way when you go to other countries…they don’t have police officers they have troops, and I think it kind of scares a lot of people…it might cut down on a whole lot of crime because they don’t know if they’re military or the police.”

“I think it’s fantastic because it might slow down some of the crime rate,” added another.

Predictions of mass civil unrest have fueled fears that the federal government and the U.S. Army are gearing up for domestic disorder.

Both the U.S. Army and the Department of Homeland Security recently purchased large quantities of riot gear in anticipation of trouble at the upcoming DNC, RNC and the presidential inauguration. The DHS has also purchased 450 million rounds of .40 caliber hollow point bullets.

A recently leaked US Army Military Police training manual for “Civil Disturbance Operations” outlines how military assets are to be used domestically to quell riots, confiscate firearms and even kill Americans on U.S. soil during mass civil unrest.

On page 20 of the manual, rules regarding the use of “deadly force” in confronting “dissidents” are made disturbingly clear with the directive that a, “Warning shot will not be fired.”

As an example of how high tensions are running, the following You Tube video, which shows over a hundred tanks being transported through Burbank, California, is also causing consternation amongst those that fear some form of martial law could be just around the corner.
