OUTLAW: Obama now deciding what’s constitutional and what’s not? That’s not in his job description!

WH: Obama still 'grappling' with gay marriage

  • Admin ends defense of DOMA

The Obama administration announced Wednesday that it has pulled its legal support for the federal Defense of Marriage Act, stating that the law fails to meet constitutional scrutiny standards and therefore the administration is under no obligation to defend it.
  • Attorney General Eric H. Holder Jr. said in a statement released Wednesday that President Obama has decided that his administration “will cease defense of Section 3,” which states that marriage is between one man and one woman.

  1. Actually, it (deciding what is and is not constitutional) is his ONLY job description! His oath of office goes like this: I do solemnly swear to faithfully execute the office of President of the United States and will, to the best of my ability (listen up. Here's the kicker) preserve, protect, and defend the Constitution of the United States of America". Simply put, in order to preserve, protect, and defend the constitution, he needs not only to understand it, but in understanding it, to interpret it. He taught Constitutional law at Harvard. You might want to give the man his due.
