Seep found near 'capped' well...

But late on Sunday, the U.S. government released a letter to BP Chief Managing Director Bob Dudley from retired Coast Guard Admiral Thad Allen that referred to seepage near the mile-deep (1.6 km-deep) well as well as "undetermined anomalies at the well head."

US Warns BP, but Allows Cap to Stay On

Late Sunday, Allen said a seep had been detected a distance from the busted oil well and demanded in a sharply worded letter that BP step up monitoring of the ocean floor. Allen didn't say what was coming from the seep.

The Associated Press quoted an unnamed administration official as saying that the new cap was seeping and that "possible methane" had been detected near the broken well.LOUISIANA SEN.: OBAMA IS TRYING TO CONCEAL SPILL...

Sen. David Vitter (R-La.) told "Fox News Sunday" that President Barack Obama is focusing too much on concealing the BP oil spill, rather than the clean-up.
