Gingrich Anti-War?

The neocon Newt is expressing doubts about Obama’s colonial war in Afghanistan. Not about the people killed nor the property destroyed, of course, but he worries that the war might be bad for the empire.

George Will and Tony Blankley have expressed similar doubts. Is this akin to the Republican comments during Clinton’s war on Serbia, just partisan blather? Or are these neocons worried that the imperial trouble in Afghanistan might hinder their planned next war of aggression, against Iran?

Bill Kristol claims that all these wars and more are doable, and demonizes dissent. But as Niall Ferguson points out, the US empire–with its crazed spending, debt, and money printing–is in danger of sudden collapse. And as he also points out, in these revolutionary wars, we are the Redcoats. (Thanks to Daniel)
