Media plays up ACORN buster arrest but downplays his statement

No one tried to wiretap or bug Senator Landrieu’s office.

O'Keefe asserts, primarily, that "The government has now confirmed what has always been clear:  No one tried to wiretap or bug Senator Landrieu’s office."  Earlier media reports had stated that this was what the government accused O'Keefe of doing when he was arrested with three other men earlier this week.

Although he recognizes that he "could have used a different approach to this investigation, particularly given the sensitivities that people understandably have about security in a federal building."  But O'Keefe also states that the entire ordeal was videotaped and that he was "eager" for the government to allow the tape to be released.
